FAQ
Do you have a CSA?
Not at the moment, although we are considering the possibility for future seasons.
What about a newsletter?
Yes! Subscribe here.
Are you certified organic?
No. For time and money reasons, getting certified does not make sense for our farm right now. But we believe anyone who cares about pesticide and chemical-free food would be happy with the way we grow.
Okay, but seriously, what are you putting in your soil?
All of our inputs are certified organic: compost from Cedar Grove, propagation mix from SunGro, kelp meal from Tidal Organics, and a few other amendments from Down to Earth.
I’m a chef. How do I get your veggies?
Email us at tiantianfarmwa@gmail.com and we’ll send you a fresh sheet. We deliver to Seattle on Sundays and Wednesdays from May through October.
Can I come visit your farm?
It depends. Shoot us an email at tiantianfarmwa@gmail.com and we can talk about it. Please understand that we can’t accommodate unplanned visits to our farm. Our self-serve farmstand, however, is open to anyone during daylight hours. (See below).
Do you have a farmstand on Vashon Island?
Yes! Our farmstand is open and stocked from May through October with whatever veggies we have in season. You’ll see a sign at our farm at 24026 Wax Orchard Road. We accept cash, Venmo, checks, and VIGA bucks.
What is no-till? Are you no-till?
Recently, a growing number of small-scale farmers are deciding that the best way to build and maintain healthy soil is to do as little as possible to disturb it. That means cutting back on tillage and finding other ways to kill weeds and prepare soil for planting. We haven’t gone full no-till yet. Our half-acre plot got an initial till in 2021 and some light plowing in 2022, but we rely primarily on heavy-duty tarps, hand-weeding, broadforking, and compost mulching to prepare our beds.
